VerifiedThe Old Mutual Education Trust was created in 2005 with ten trade unions to fund union members and their children at university. It pays R77 000 a year and adds strong academic and personal support.
About the Old Mutual Education Trust Bursary
- Partial funding of R77 000 per year.
- A laptop, student support practitioner, counselling and tutoring.
- 60 scholarships a year.
Eligibility requirements
- Paid-up member of a participating union, or a child dependant under 25.
- Studying a first undergraduate qualification at a public university.
- Strong academic results.
- Preference for Grade 12 applicants.

- Prepare your ID, results, union membership proof and proof of dependency if applicable.
- Apply online during the July to August window.
