The 2027 scholarship is open and closes on 30 September 2026.

The Imfundo Trust was set up in 2011 by what is now Old Mutual Investment Group to bring more black students, especially women, into the investment industry. Its scholarships fund full-time degrees at selected universities, with StudyTrust running applications and student support.

Eligibility requirements

  • South African citizen entering first or second year in 2027.
  • Matriculants: at least a 70% mid-year Grade 12 average, 70% for Mathematics, and 70% for English First Additional Language or 60% for English Home Language.
  • First-year students: at least a 65% average in the latest exams.
  • Preference for applicants from rural and township backgrounds.

  2. Complete the online application and upload all supporting documents.
  3. Submit before 30 September 2026. Shortlisted applicants are interviewed.
