About the Marula Platinum Bursary

The Marula Platinum Bursary is a comprehensive financial aid program designed to empower academically talented students from local communities to pursue tertiary education in fields relevant to the mining industry.

By providing financial support and mentorship, the bursary program aims to bridge the gap between academic aspirations and a fulfilling career path.

Marula Platinum Bursary Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Marula Platinum Bursary, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Academic Achievement:
    • Applicants completing Grade 12 must have a university exemption pass and achieve a minimum of a “C” symbol in Mathematics, Physical Science, and English.
    • Current university students with a minimum average of 60% across all subjects can also apply.
  2. Proof of Academic Progress:
    • Grade 12 applicants: Submit a certified copy of your latest academic results.
    • Current university students: Provide a certified copy of your full academic record.
  3. University Choice:
    • Priority is given to applicants planning to study at one of the following universities:
      • University of Cape Town
      • University of Johannesburg
      • University of Pretoria
      • North-West University (Potchefstroom)
      • WITS University
  4. Medical Fitness:
    • Applicants must be medically fit or able to obtain a valid medical certificate.

Marula Platinum Bursary Application Requirements

  2. Certified copy of your Matric certificate (if applicable)
  3. Certified copy of your latest Matric results (if completing Grade 12)
