Anglo American Platinum is now Valterra Platinum, having separated from Anglo American plc and listed as an independent company. The bursary continues under the new name: a deep, narrow scheme in rock engineering, mine surveying and mining engineering that funds students to honours level and guarantees a place on the graduate programme afterwards.

Valterra Platinum Bursary eligibility requirements
- Studying at an accredited South African university.
- At least a 65% overall average in your most recent results.
- Entry points differ by specialisation: geomatics takes matriculants and final-year undergraduates, while the other tracks take final-year students.
- Willing to join the graduate programme after graduating.
How to apply for the Valterra Platinum Bursary
- Find the SmartRecruiters link for your specialisation when the round opens; each track has its own application.
- Upload a certified ID, complete academic transcripts, a CV setting out your extracurricular activities, proof of address and your honours acceptance letter once you have it.
- Submit before the closing date. Tshikululu screens applications and the company interviews shortlisted candidates.
