Tshipi e Ntle is South Africa’s largest single manganese mine, in the Kalahari Manganese Field in the Northern Cape. Its community bursary scheme funds local young people in engineering and mine surveying.
About the Tshipi e Ntle Bursary
- Fields: mechanical, electrical (heavy current), chemical or metallurgical, and industrial engineering, and mine surveying.
- Covers tuition, accommodation, a laptop and prescribed textbooks.
- Ten bursaries in the 2026 round.
Eligibility requirements
- South African citizen aged 18 to 35, from the mine’s host communities.
- Accepted at, or studying full-time at, an accredited institution.
- A strong academic record.
- Preference for first-year students in the last round.
