Hatch Bursary Requirements

To be eligible for the Hatch Bursary, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a South African citizen.
  2. Be a final-year student or a recent graduate (within the past 12 months) with a recognized tertiary institution.
  3. Field of study: Be enrolled in or intending to enroll in a BSc or BEng degree in one of the specified engineering disciplines.
  4. Academic performance:
    • Final-year students: Maintain an average academic achievement of 65% or above.
    • Recent graduates: Maintain an average academic achievement of 90% or above in your final year of study.
  5. Be flexible to work in any province within South Africa upon graduation.
