MiWay is a direct short-term insurer in the Santam group, founded in 2008, that sells car, home and business cover online and by phone. Its actuarial team has offered an honours bursary in actuarial science and now runs an annual hackathon to find actuarial talent.

How to apply for the MiWay Bursary
- Email actuarial.careers@miway.co.za to confirm whether a 2027 bursary is on offer.
- If it is, send your first-semester results, an updated CV and any supporting documents to the same address with the subject line “MiWay bursary application”. There is no application form.
- Watch the MiWay blog for the annual actuarial hackathon, which opens in March. Entrants send a puzzle answer, working code or spreadsheet and a CV with the subject line “Hackathon Puzzle”.
