About the NMU/ AIDC PostDoctoral Fellowship
The NMU/ AIDC PostDoctoral Fellowship is a fully-funded opportunity lasting 24 months.
Fellows will be hosted by the Department of Mechatronics at NMU, working under the supervision of an established researcher within the Advanced Mechatronics Technology Centre (AMTEC).
The program promotes research aligned with the AIDC’s strategic objectives, focusing on critical areas like:
- Electric and hybrid vehicle technologies
- Advanced manufacturing processes
- Lightweight materials and structures
- Automotive mechatronics and control systems

NMU/ AIDC PostDoctoral Fellowship Application Form

- A detailed curriculum vitae (CV): Highlight your academic qualifications, research experience, publications, and awards.
- Certified copies of academic transcripts: Provide transcripts from all universities attended.
- Certified copy of your Ph.D. certificate: Proof of your doctorate is essential.
- Two letters of reference: Obtain recommendations from academic referees familiar with your work.

To be eligible for this fellowship, you must:
- Possess a Ph.D. in Automotive Engineering and Manufacturing or a closely related field.
- Be a South African citizen.

- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be highly motivated and committed to contributing to the South African automotive industry.
