Ndwedwe Municipality Bursary 2027: How to Apply

Ndwedwe Local Municipality lies inland from Tongaat and Ballito in the iLembe District of KwaZulu-Natal. Its bursary funds young residents from disadvantaged backgrounds to study scarce-skill qualifications, with the aim of building the engineers, planners, auditors and artisans the municipality and the district need.

About the Ndwedwe Local Municipality Bursary

The bursary pays, per academic year:

  • Registration and tuition fees, up to R50 000.
  • Prescribed textbooks, up to R6 000.

Accommodation and allowances are not covered. Study must be at an accredited public or private institution in South Africa.

Ndwedwe Bursary eligibility requirements

  • South African citizen aged 18 to 35 living within Ndwedwe Local Municipality.
  • From a historically disadvantaged background.
  • In Matric, or have completed Matric, with strong results or clear academic potential.
  • Accepted, or intending to enrol, for one of the fields above.
  • Not receiving NSFAS or any other bursary.

How to apply for the Ndwedwe Bursary

  1. Collect the application form from the municipal offices or download it from ndwedwe.gov.za when the call opens.
  2. Attach certified copies of: your ID; your latest results; proof of acceptance from the institution; a CV; a motivation letter; proof of residence signed by your ward councillor; and your parents’ or guardians’ proof of income.
  3. Post the application to Private Bag X503, Ndwedwe, 4342, or hand-deliver it to the Ndwedwe Local Municipality offices on the P100 road, the Bhamshela Thusong Service Centre, the Sonkombo Thusong Service Centre or the Bhamshela Modular Library.
  4. Submit before the closing date. Late or incomplete applications are not considered.
