The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is a large organization in South Africa that is responsible for the country’s social security system, including distributing social grants, on behalf of the Department of Social Development.

SASSA started it in April 2005 to make things better. Before, each province helped people with money, but now SASSA helps everyone in the country.

SASSA ensures that people get the help they need without problems. They provide different types of financial assistance for children, older people, and people with disabilities.

SASSA also gives out money when there’s a big problem, like during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many people in South Africa receive help from SASSA. In 2022, almost half of the country’s population received some kind of help from SASSA.

SASSA uses special technology to ensure the money goes to the right people and stop anyone from cheating.

SASSA gives money to people in different ways. People can get their money from special places called points, certain shops, or ATMs. Some people can even get loans or buy airtime with their SASSA money.
