About the Association for Dietetics in South Africa Bursary

Since 2013, the ADSA bursary program has been empowering financially disadvantaged individuals by providing them with financial support to pursue undergraduate dietetic studies.

The bursary offers partial financial cover (up to R30,000 annually) to assist with expenses such as registration fees, textbooks, accommodation, and other educational costs.

Additionally, bursary recipients receive complimentary ADSA student membership throughout the scholarship period.

Importantly, bursary funds are directly paid to the university upon receiving a statement with the student’s name and student number.

Eligibility Criteria for the Association for Dietetics in South Africa Bursary

Before applying for the ADSA bursary, ensure you meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. You must be a South African citizen.
  2. You must be enrolled in an undergraduate dietetics program in South Africa.
  3. Year of Study: Be in your 1st year of study (or have completed your 1st year) and entering your 2nd year in the application year.
  4. Financial Need: Demonstrate a genuine financial need.
  5. Passion and Skills: Possess a strong passion for food science and health, along with demonstrably strong leadership qualities and participation in school activities.

  2. Certified Copy of your Most Recent Academic Results: If your end-of-year results are unavailable, submit your latest results (June results).
