The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector plays a role in South Africa’s economic growth and development.
Yet, women remain under-represented in this rapidly evolving field.
The Women in Information Technology (WIIT) Bursary aims to address this gap by providing financial support and encouragement to talented young women pursuing careers in IT.
The WIIT Bursary program is an initiative by the Women in Information Technology (WIIT) organization.
WIIT is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women in the ICT sector.
They achieve this through bursaries, networking events, mentoring programs, and advocacy initiatives.
About Women in IT Bursary
WIIT offers two prestigious bursaries specifically designed to support deserving female students pursuing ICT degrees in South Africa.
- Fully Funded Three-Year Bursary: This comprehensive bursary covers university fees, textbooks, and residence costs for the entire three-year duration of your ICT degree. Renewal for each year is contingent upon maintaining good academic standing.
- Partial Funding Bursary: This bursary provides financial assistance to help alleviate the financial burden of studying an ICT degree. The exact amount awarded depends on available funds and individual circumstances.
Both bursary options not only address financial barriers but also recognize the exceptional potential of young female tech talent.
