About the Old Mutual Bursary

The Old Mutual Accounting Bursary is designed to empower young South Africans to pursue a rewarding career in Chartered Accounting.

The bursary offers exceptional financial support, covering essential expenses like tuition fees, study materials, on-campus accommodation, and even return flights home (if studying outside your hometown).

Beyond financial support, the bursary presents additional valuable opportunities.

Recipients have the chance to gain practical experience through vacation work during their university holidays.

This allows them to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting and gain valuable insights into the financial services industry.

The bursary extends support throughout the entire degree program.

Students who consistently excel academically receive further incentives, recognizing their dedication and hard work.

Upon graduation, bursary recipients have the exciting prospect of joining Old Mutual’s CA Training Programme.

This program equips trainees with a broad understanding of all financial spheres as mandated by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).

Through the program, graduates gain exposure to various areas, including accounting and external reporting, management decision-making and control, financial management, risk management, governance, and taxation.
