About Africa Cosmos Education Trust
Africa Cosmos Education Trust is the bursary arm of Africa Cosmos Consulting & Training Services, a BBBEE Level 1 provider established in 1986 in Johannesburg.
The Trust empowers young South Africans from disadvantaged backgrounds through financial assistance, mentorship, and skills development across multiple sectors.
Fields of Study Funded
The bursary supports full-time study for South African students in the following fields at accredited institutions:
- Actuarial Science, Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics
- Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems
- Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Computer Systems Engineering
- Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, Business Analysis
- Financial Accounting, Risk Management, Security Management, Procurement
- Project Management, Statistics, Supply Chain Management, HR Management, and more
Preference is often given to STEM and business-related degrees.
Benefits for Recipients
The bursary typically covers:
- Tuition, registration, and examination fees
- Accommodation and prescribed textbooks
- A once-off stipend
Recipients must sign a bursary agreement and commit to Trust programmes. There is usually a work-back obligation aligned with the university academic calendar.
Eligibility Criteria
You must meet every criterion:
- South African citizen
- Matric or tertiary student under 35 years old
- Full-time study in one of the eligible fields listed above
- Strong academic performance (e.g. first-year enrolment in 2026)
- Unemployed and able to demonstrate financial need via validated documents
- Consent to background checks and attendance requirements
- Not accepting any other bursary funds without Trust approval
Incomplete or ineligible applications will be disqualified.
How to Apply
- Download the official Africa Cosmos Bursary Application Form for 2026 from the Trust website.
- Fill out the form completely, using CAPITAL block letters.
- At the question “Where did you hear about bursaries?”, enter “www.bursariesafrica.co.za”.
- Arrange all supporting documents in the order listed on the form.
- Submit your application in a single PDF file via one of the following methods:

Required Documents
Include certified (3 months old or less) copies of:
- Applicant’s South African ID
- Parent/guardian ID documents
- Matric certificate or tertiary transcripts
- Proof of address
- Payslips of employed parent/guardian or affidavit if unemployed
- Household income and monthly budget statement
- Proof of registration or acceptance letter
- Fee invoices (tuition, textbooks, accommodation if applicable)
- CV and 2-page essay on background and goals
- Police clearance or SAPS affidavit indicating no criminal record
Missing documentation can lead to automatic disqualification.
Closing Date
The application portal closes at 23:59 SAST on 24 March 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
