Do You Qualify?
You can apply for the Thuthuka Bursary if you:
- Are you a South African citizen
- Identify as Black African or Coloured
- Are in Grade 12, or have Matric (out of school for no more than two years), or are currently studying a CA-stream BCom degree
- Achieved at least 60% in Mathematics in Grade 11 (Maths Literacy and Technical Maths are not accepted)
- Applied or are applying to a university offering the Thuthuka programme
- Have a combined family income of R350 000 or less per year
- Have written or will write the National Benchmark Tests (NBT) before August 31st, 2025
Important to Note
- You must sign a contract with both the Thuthuka Education and Upliftment Fund (TEUF) and NSFAS
- Thuthuka funding cannot be used to settle existing student loans or debts
- Applicants are selected based on academic performance, NBT scores, and financial need
