Fields of Study Funded
The bursary supports full-time undergraduate study in these fields at accredited South African institutions:
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering (including rail engineering)
- Electrical Engineering
- Quantity Surveying
Additional eligible fields may include Architecture, Project Management or Environmental Science.
Benefits for Recipients
Recipients may receive support, including:
- Tuition and registration fees
- Prescribed textbooks and materials
- Accommodation up to R100,000 per annum
- One‑time laptop allowance up to R8,000
Bursaries are awarded per academic year and are renewable subject to maintaining a minimum average of 65%.
AECOM requires successful applicants to undertake one year of full-time work at AECOM post-graduation for each year of bursary support.
Who Can Apply
You must meet all of the following:
- Be a South African citizen
- Have completed or be completing Matric with at least 75% in Mathematics and Science
- Have a minimum overall average of 65% at tertiary level if already studying
- Be enrolled or accepted full-time in one of the approved fields
- Demonstrate commitment to pursuing a career in the built environment sector
No prior work experience is needed.
