About the American International School of Cape Town

The American International School of Cape Town (AISCT) is a non‑profit, co‑educational school founded in 1997. 

It offers a U.S.–style curriculum in Constantia, Cape Town, including Advanced Placement (AP) courses and the AP Capstone Program.

Fields of Study Funded

This scholarship is for Grade 9 (or Grade 10 for later intakes) students wanting to complete an American High School Diploma through AP courses at AISCT. 

The programme begins in August 2026 and prepares students for global university admission.

Benefits for Recipients

The scholarship covers:

  • Full tuition, admission, and capital fees
  • MacBook, textbooks, AP, and SAT exam fees
  • Up to six university application fees
    It does not cover uniforms, meals, accommodation, or transport 

Eligibility Criteria 

You must meet all of the following:

  • South African citizen
  • Born between 1 August 2010 and 1 September 2011
  • Completed Grade 8 and entering Grade 9 in 2026
  • Must be able to reside in Cape Town for the duration (with family or guardians)
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • High academic achievement in the English curriculum
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and community service
  • Proven financial need (via IRP5 or tax documentation)
    Failure to meet any criterion disqualifies your application

How to Apply

  1. Register and submit the online application via the AISCT High School Scholarship portal.
  2. Upload all required documents listed below
  3. Enter “www.bursariesafrica.co.za” in the “How did you hear about bursaries?” field
  4. After submission, email your full name to admissions@aisct.org
    Submit before the confirmed closing date

Required Documents

Submit the following digitally (legible and certified if required):

  • Student’s birth certificate and vaccination record
  • Parent/guardian ID documents
  • School reports: full Grade 7, Grade 8, and available Grade 9 term reports
  • Written Personal Narrative (≤ 250 words): Introduce yourself
  • Educational CV (≤ 500 words): extracurriculars, leadership, awards
  • Tax statement or IRP5 for financial need verification
  • Email address of the current school for referral information

Closing Date

In 2026, the application deadline was 15 January, with award decisions by 4 April, for an August start. 

The 2026 deadline is not yet confirmed—submit only when announced.
