Arena Academy Bursary 2026 – Boston City Campus & Media House Studies

About the Organisation

Arena Holdings—including TimesLIVE, Business Day, Sunday Times, and other major publications—launched Arena Academy to invest in education and lifelong learning. 

They partner with Boston City Campus and Boston Media House to extend bursary support to deserving students.

Fields of Study Funded

The bursary supports full‑time certificate, diploma, or degree programmes at Boston City Campus or Boston Media House, including:

  • Business Management, HR, Marketing, Entrepreneurship
  • Advertising, Communication, PR, Media & Journalism
  • ICT, Software Development, Network Engineering
  • Tourism, Hospitality, Events Management
  • Legal Studies and Paralegal programmes
  • Accounting, Finance, Business Administration

Applicants must be accepted into one of the offered programmes for 2026.

Benefits for Recipients

Arena Academy bursaries cover tuition fees for the full duration of your programme. 

Winners also receive support with textbooks, possible allowances for basic study needs, and mentorship resources. 

The bursary is awarded to a small cohort (e.g., 13 awards valued at R2.5 million in 2023).

Eligibility Criteria 

You must meet all of the following:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Have completed Matric
  • Be accepted to study full‑time at Boston City Campus or Boston Media House in one of the eligible fields
  • Demonstrate financial need and strong academic performance
    Incomplete or ineligible applicants will not qualify.

How to Apply

  1. Go to the official Arena Academy bursary application page (via Arena or Boston websites) when the 2026 bursary opens.
  2. Complete the online application form fully with personal, academic, and financial information.
  3. In the application form field “Where did you hear about bursaries?”, enter “www.bursariesafrica.co.za.”
  4. Upload all required documents and submit before the confirmed deadline. Only online applications are considered.

Required Documents

You must upload certified or clear copies of:

  • South African ID document
  • Matric certificate or final Matric results
  • Acceptance or registration proof at Boston City Campus or Media House
  • Proof of residence
  • A motivational letter (~300 words) stating why you require the bursary and your career aims
  • A testimonial or reference from your school, church, or community organisation with contact details

Missing or uncertified documents may lead to application rejection.

Closing Date

For the latest cycle, applications closed on 13 January in previous years. The 2026 closing date is not yet published.
