Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must satisfy all of the following:

  1. Be a South African citizen.
  2. Be between about 18 and 28 years old (this may vary slightly per cycle).
  3. Have completed Matric.
  4. Registered or about to register for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. year of study in 2026, or for postgraduate where eligible.
  5. Study at an accredited public tertiary institution in South Africa.
  6. Achieved a minimum overall average of 70% in their most recent completed year.

  1. Submit applications online via the Cipla Careers / Bursary Program portal.
  2. Upload the required documents in PDF format. These include: certified ID, Matric certificate, academic transcripts, proof of registration, CV, proof of needed funding (quotes/invoices for things like accommodation, books, laptop)
  3. Make sure all funding requests (tuition, meals, etc.) have supporting invoices or quotations. For private accommodation, a lease or landlord affidavit is required.
