The Trust was established under the will of the late Professor Erika Theron, who served as Chancellor of UWC; she intended to encourage and assist women in the discipline of Social Work.

Erika Theron Trust Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:

  1. Be female.
  2. Be a South African citizen.
  3. Must have obtained their first degree in Social Work at UWC.
  4. Must be studying (or about to study) a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work at UWC.
  5. Must have a good academic record.
  6. Studies must be pursued at UWC (Social Work Department).

What does the Erika Theron Trust Scholarship Cover?

The exact award value is not fixed publicly and is dependent on funds available.

Recipients receive support to cover their postgraduate study in Social Work at UWC, enabling them to focus on their research or coursework. 

The Trust allocates awards based on available funds.
