This programme is designed to equip young professionals with workplace exposure while strengthening their administrative, analytical, and coordination skills in a structured environment.
Overview of the Internship
Selected candidates will receive a total annual stipend of R120,000. Interns will be assigned to different departments within NEDLAC, where they will gain hands-on experience across multiple operational areas.
The programme focuses on developing workplace readiness through real responsibilities and mentorship from experienced professionals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Interns will take part in a variety of tasks that support daily operations, including:
- Carrying out general administrative and entry-level operational duties
- Managing correspondence, responding to queries, and maintaining filing systems
- Assisting with budgeting coordination processes
- Supporting audit preparation through information gathering
- Compiling data for monthly and quarterly reporting
- Providing support to supervisors and departmental managers
- Preparing meeting agendas and recording minutes
- Contributing to presentations, with at least one required per quarter
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold a National Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Honours Degree in any of the following fields:
- Public Administration
- Journalism or Media Studies
- Project Management
- Public Relations
- Business Management
Candidates should also have a foundational understanding of key legislation and frameworks such as:
- Skills Development Act (SDA)
- Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
- Relevant tax regulations
- Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE)
- Employment Equity and Affirmative Action policies
A solid theoretical grounding in your field of study will be essential for success in this programme.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be South African citizens under the age of 35
- Possess a valid South African ID
- Hold a recognised post-matric qualification from an accredited institution
